Hotel Hacks for Eating Healthy

Hotel Hacks for Eating Healthy

Jun 28, 2017
Before you go into your 12 hour shift take some time to prepare and plan what your meals will be. Creating a meal plan will simplify your week and save you money from eating out. Although your hotel room may not have a full functioning kitchen there are still items you can utilize such as the fridge and microwave. Depending on whether you are flying or driving to your assignment it would be beneficial for you to pack a portable blender or crockpot. If your room doesn’t have a refrigerator, don’t stress. Pick up a foam cooler and fill it with ice from the ice machine.

If you are struggling to find some meals that you can prepare in your room try some of the ideas below:
- Microwave eggs
- Microwave steamed vegetables
- Microwavable rice or quinoa packets
- Soup
- Precooked chicken
- Deli Meat Sandwiches
- Precooked shrimp
- Microwave potatoes by pocking holes in both sides
- Oatmeal
- Raw fruits and vegetables
- Canned tuna: add salt, pepper or salad dressing
- Greek yogurt with granola
