Therapy Thursday: Meet Dyan, Our Experienced Therapy Recruiter

Welcome to another edition of our “Therapy Thursday” series, where we highlight the incredible members of our therapy team at Prime Time Healthcare. Today, we're excited to introduce Dyan, a dedicated Therapy Recruiter with a background in physical therapy and a passion for mentoring new grads and travelers. Get to know Dyan and discover valuable insights and advice for travel therapists.

Q: How long have you been working as a PT and a Therapy Recruiter?

A: "I’ve been a PT since 2005 and a Therapy Recruiter for 3.5 years."

With a wealth of experience in physical therapy, Dyan brings a deep understanding of the field to the role of Therapy Recruiter, providing invaluable support and guidance to new grads and travelers.

Q: What is your favorite part about working with travel therapists?

A: "I love being a mentor and resource for new grads and new travelers, guiding them through starting their travel journey."

Dyan finds immense satisfaction in helping new therapists navigate the start of their travel careers, offering mentorship and support to ensure their success.

Q: What essential advice do you give to new travelers?

A: "I always recommend a tax home consult before starting travel to make sure they can maximize the tax-free money they earn."

Ensuring that new travelers understand the importance of a tax home consult is a key part of Dyan's guidance, helping them optimize their earnings.

Q: How do you support your travelers throughout their assignments?

A: "I reach out to my travelers at least once a week to check in and see how things are going. I have also set up traveler hang-outs when I have more than one traveler in the same area. One time, we had 14 travelers meetup in Seattle!"

Regular communication is central to Dyan’s approach, ensuring travelers feel supported and connected during their assignments. Also, creating opportunities for travelers to connect and share experiences is a highlight of Dyan's role, fostering a strong sense of community.

Q: What are your top tips for travel therapists?

A: "Be flexible and open-minded. If your priority is to make a lot of money, then be open to location and setting. If your priority is location, be open to setting and pay. Stay organized—keep a binder of all medical documents, contracts, exact dates/locations of all assignments, and contact information from supervisors to use as future references."

Flexibility, openness, and organization are key to a successful travel therapy career. These tips help therapists make the most of their opportunities and maintain a smooth and efficient process.

Dyan’s dedication and experience make them an invaluable member of our team at Prime Time Healthcare. We hope their insights inspire and guide both new and seasoned travel therapists. Stay tuned for more highlights and valuable content every Thursday in our “Therapy Thursday” series!
