Therapy Thursday: Meet Erik, Our Therapy Manager
Welcome to our new series, "Therapy Thursday," where we highlight our amazing therapy team members at Prime Time Healthcare. Today, we're excited to introduce Erik, our dedicated Therapy Manager, who has been an integral part of our team. Get to know Erik and gain some valuable insights from his extensive experience in the therapy recruitment space.
Q: What is your favorite part about working with travel therapists?
A: "It sounds cliché, but building relationships that go beyond the transactional aspect of our jobs is huge for me. I’m still connected to people I’ve worked with for 10+ years now!"
For Erik, it's all about forming lasting connections with the therapists he works with. He values the relationships that extend far beyond the professional realm, highlighting his commitment to creating a supportive and connected community.
Q: What tips do you have for therapists who are considering travel positions for the first time?
A: "Staffing firms are a dime-a-dozen. Ask all the questions, find a recruiter who will help educate you on the ins & outs and one that is not super pushy. At the end of the day, go with your gut and the rest will work out!"
Erik emphasizes the importance of finding the right recruiter. He advises new travel therapists to ask plenty of questions and to seek out recruiters who prioritize education over pressure. Trusting your instincts is key to finding the right fit and ensuring a positive experience.
Q: How do you support travel therapists throughout their assignments?
A: "Setting the expectation that I’ll be available for anything they need – and then actually being available when they need is huge! Let’s create a scheduled time to talk each week until the plane takes off and once you’re flying, we can dial it back a little."
Erik's approach to support is all about availability and consistency. He ensures that his therapists know he is there for them, providing regular check-ins and maintaining open lines of communication. This level of support helps therapists feel confident and secure throughout their assignments.
Q: How long have you been recruiting and what has been your favorite part about it?
A: "I’ve been in the therapy recruitment space since 2012! My favorite part about recruiting is that each day is never the same. There are similar days and similar situations, but every day is different! Keeps things interesting!!"
With over a decade of experience, Erik thrives on the dynamic nature of his work. He loves that no two days are the same, which keeps his role exciting and fulfilling. This passion for variety and new challenges is what makes Erik a standout recruiter.
Erik's dedication and experience make him an invaluable member of our team at Prime Time Healthcare. We hope his insights inspire and guide both new and seasoned travel therapists. Stay tuned for more highlights and valuable content every Thursday in our "Therapy Thursday" series!
